Essay
The article "Young people are being prescribed dangerous antidepressants" is devoted to the problem of using dangerous antidepressants among children and teenagers. Nowadays the mental health problem has become very serious and popular. Many young people are suffering from depression, and due to this fact they have to take antidepressants. Unfortunately, sometimes these pills could make things even worse.
From my
point of view, it is dangerous to take some pills without knowing that it could
consist of strong drugs and other psychotropic substances. It is better to
always check some symptoms from this or that medicine in the Internet and read
some recommendations to it. People should be very cautious about their health.
Secondly, talking about children who are under 18, I think, that their parent
should always care about mental health of their kids for not making situation
too bad that a child has to take antidepressants. In many cases, pills can be
excluded if parents constantly conduct psychotherapeutic exercises with their
child. Only rare exceptions may be allowed for these pills. It is so awful that
people, who are trying to beat depression, become the victim of someone's
mistake.
However,
some people think that taking antidepressants is the only way in the treatment
of depression. If people feel that their mental health is deteriorating, then
most of the time they themselves ask the psychotherapist to prescribe
antidepressants for them.
I think,
that in that case, it is really important to have a really good doctor who will
try to dissuade the patient from taking the pills and suggest more appointments.
Most often, patients, especially children, find it difficult to stop taking
antidepressants, so it is important to start taking it only in extreme cases.
In
conclusion, I would like to say that people should be able to control their
emotions and learn how to take over negative thoughts to avoid depression and,
subsequently, use of antidepressants. As for children, who are not yet able to
control their emotions, their parents, firstly, should be near them and help
them in that difficult period.
